I am a very firm beliver that racing is in my blood, just not expressed on the track (yet). I first went to Petit Le Mans when I was a baby, and have always been coming back since unless something gets in the way. The camera I started with was a Nikon D40 that was at least 10 years old. The camera is still with us and helping family members begin their photography experience. Petit Le Mans was when I first learned that I could pan the camera to follow the car, and younger me was whipping my camera everywhere at first and getting severely frustrated at why I couldn't get a decent picture. With patience and guidance, I figured it out. Here are some of my first PLM pictures.
Not too bad, right? Then again, I had went through these photos a couple of years back and sorted the good from the bad.
The Caddy would grow on me in the future, and Sébastien Bourdais's name would be seen and heard again and again.
It has loads of signatures on it!
This car and it's sister #3 would be my two Petit favourites for many years.
Some examples of issues of a beginning race photographer. It's all part of the process.
